The lipid accumulation product (LAP) is a relatively new marker for measuring cardiovascular disease (CVD) risk factor.
Recent studies have shown that LAP can be powerful marker for detecting CVD risk factors.
LAP was proposed by Kahn in 2005. It is based on a combination of waist circumference (WC) and fasting TG and serves as a simple index for lipid over accumulation among adults.
The minimum WC for females was estimated at 58 cm and 65 cm for men according to National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey. It was used to compute the “LAP"
